Police here have arrested two people in connection with the killing of an albino girl, Yunis Bahati (14), on Wednesday night at Butonga village, Sima ward in Sengerema district. Sengerema District Commissioner Alinasi Pallangyo, mentioned the suspects as the deceased’s father, Bahati Lugwisha (53) and Emmanuel Shiligongo.
The DC said efforts were going on to arrest other suspects who escaped immediately after committing the offence. “We have launched a manhunt and we will not rest until we arrest all those involved in murdering the innocent girl,” he said.
Five people stormed into Bahati’s room on Wednesday night, killing her after chopping her two legs. The grisly murder took a new twist today when the deceased’s younger sister, Leticia Bahati (8), mentioned their father as one of the people involved in the murder. According to Leticia, on the fateful night, their father arrived home with the other suspects from a local brew club.
