KEMIKALI ZA AINA ZINAVYOATHIRI MAPENZI
CHEMICALLY FAILED ROMANCE?
While the UK is reeling over the surprise split of beloved couple Katie and Peter, a leading relationship scientist says the reason is all in the brain chemistry…
When Peter Andre ended his 3 ½ year marriage to Katie Price yesterday over photographs of her drunken canoodling in a club, she was said to be broken-hearted. But according to a leading relationship scientist, the reason behind the split lies not in the couple’s hearts, but their brains.
Dr Helen Fisher, an eminent biological anthropologist and Chief Scientific Adviser to dating site Match.com, has worked with over 30,000 singles to decipher the secret to lasting love. She believes it is all down to chemistry and specifically which of four chemicals is the most dominant in a person’s brain, dopamine, serotonin, oestrogen or testosterone. Dr Fisher has discovered four unique personality types; Explorers, Builders, Negotiators and Directors. Her science can help explain why some matches lead to a life of lasting love and others don’t.
According to Dr Fisher, Katie Price is a classic Explorer. These are exuberant, adventurous personalities (Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are other examples of Explorers) have risk-taking Dopamine dominant in their brains. This means they are attracted to ambition, success and power and constantly strive to achieve. Katie shows these characteristics in her flamboyant dress-sense and workaholism. Explorers are always moving on to the next challenge, as seen in Katie’s life as she worked her way up from modelling to riding to writing children’s books and novels.
By contrast, home-loving Peter Andre is a classic Builder in personality. In his brain, calming Serotonin is the dominant chemical, making him more practical, steady and family-oriented in nature. While Katie’s career grew, Peter stayed at home to provide a stable environment for the couple’s children – Junior, 3, Princess, 22 months – and Harvey, Katie’s son from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
But while Builders might be attracted to Explorer’s exciting personalities, and Explorers might be attracted to Builders’ reliable, dependable natures, Dr Fisher believes that this paring will often find it difficult to make love last the test of time. They simply don’t share enough common ground. Explorers can feel trapped by Builders’ love of routine and schedules, and Builders will eventually tire of being – as they see it – the only “grown up” in the relationship. Could this be what has happened with Katie and Peter?
Dr Helen Fisher worked with over 30,000 members of dating site Match.com to devise her unique theories on the four different personality types, and anyone can take her free Personality Test online to find out which type they are.
The four types are:
* Explorers - dopamine is the dominant chemical meaning they are novelty seeking, risk-taking and spontaneous.
* Builders - serotonin is the dominant chemical and they are calm, conscientious, loyal and cautious.
* Negotiators - oestrogen is the dominant chemical. They are imaginative, intuitive, compassionate and have good people skills.
* Directors are ruled by testosterone making them direct, decisive, competitive and often musical.
Explorers work well with other Explorers, and Builders go well with Builders, but Negotiators and Directors can find love together. Dr Fisher explains: 'The reasons why we love are incredibly complex, but it is possible to scientifically understand why people partner better with certain types.'
Other classic mismatches, according to Dr Fisher, were Jennifer Aniston (Builder) and Brad Pitt (Explorer). Pitt eventually left to find harmony with fellow-Explorer Angelina Jolie. And Guy Ritchie, a Director, and Madonna, another Explorer, struggled to make things work long-term. But Gordon Brown and wife Sarah are both Builders, and David Cameron and his wife Samantha are both Explorers, meaning they can support and respect each other.
Match.com’s relationship expert Kate Taylor says, “I think we’re all saddened by the split of Britain’s favourite young family, but Dr Helen Fisher’s theories help make sense of the reasons behind it. Personally I’m not convinced that this is the end for Katie and Peter, but knowing their personality types should give them the knowledge to understand each other and hopefully make it work long-term.”

Coconut Water
The English name coconut, first mentioned in English print in 1555, comes from Spanish and Portugese word coco, which means "monkey face." Spanish and Portugese explorers found a resemblance to a monkey's face in the three round indented markings or "eyes" found at the base of the coconut. On the Nicobar Islands of the Indian Ocean , whole coconuts were used as currency for the purchace of goods until the early part of the twentieth century.
Coconuts are the fruit of the coconut palm, botanically known as cocos nucifera, with nucifera meaning "nut-bearing. " The fruit-bearing palms are native to Malaysia , Polynesia and southern Asia, and are now also prolific in South America , India , the Pacific Islands , Hawaii and Florida . The light, fibrous husk allowed it to easily drift on the oceans to other areas to propagate. In Sanskrit, the coconut palm is known as kalpa vriksha, meaning "tree which gives all that is necessary for living," since nearly all parts of the tree can be used in some m anner or another. The coconut itself has many food uses, including milk, meat, sugar and oil as well as functioning as its own dish and cup. The husk was also burned for fuel by natives, but today a seed fibre called coir is taken from the husk and used to make brushes, mats, fishnets, and rope. A very potent fermented toddy or drink is also made from the coconut palm's sap. Coconut oil, a saturated fat made from dried coconut meat, is used for commercial frying and in candies and margarines, as well as in non-edible products such as soaps and cosmetics.
Although it takes up to a year for coconuts to mature, the trees bloom up to thirteen times a year, so fruit is constantly forming yielding a continuous harvest year-round. An average harvest from one tree runs about 60 coconuts, with some trees yielding three times that amount. The coconut's name is a bit of a misnomer, since it is botanically classified as a drupe and not a nut. It is the largest seed known.
If you've ever opened a fresh coconut, you will have seen the thin, opaque almost clear coconut juice or water which has a slight almond flavor. Contrary to popular belief, this is not the coconut milk. However, the water is consumed as a drink fresh from the coconut by many, and it can also be used in recipes.
More information about Coconut Water
"It's a natural isotonic beverage, with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. It's the fluid of life, so to speak." In fact, during the Pacific War of 1941-45, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water - siphoned directly from the nut - to give emergency plasma transfusions to wounded soldiers.
Most coconut water is still consumed fresh in tropical coastal areas - once exposed to air, the liquid rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics, and begins to ferment.
· Coconut Water is more nutritious than whole milk - Less fat and NO cholesterol.
· Coconut Water is More Healthy than Orange Juice - Much lower calories.
· Coconut Water is Better than processed baby milk - It contains lauric acid, which is present in human mother's milk.
· Coconut water is naturally sterile - Water permeates though the filtering husk.
· Coconut water is a universal donor - Its identical to human blood plasma.
· Coconut Water is a Natural Isotonic Beverage - The same level we have in our blood.
· Coconut water has saved lives in 3rd world countries thru Coconut IV.
"Coconut water is the very stuff of Nature, biologically Pure, full of Natural Sugars, Salts, and Vitamins to ward off fatigue and is the next wave of energy drinks BUT natural", according to Mortin Satin, Chielf of the United Nation's Food & Agriculture Organization.
· Coconut water contains more potassium (at about 294 mg) than most sports drinks (117 mg) and most energy drinks.
· Coconut water has less sodium (25mg) where sports drinks have around 41mg and energy drinks have about 200 mg.
· Coconut water has 5mg of Natural Sugars where sports and energy drinks range from 10-25mg of Altered Sugars.
· Coconut water is very high in Chloride at 118mg, compared to sports drinks at about 39mg.

Most everyone has experienced hiccups at some point in their life. This normal reflex occurs when the diaphragm muscles in the lower part of the chest go into spasm. The resulting rapid movement of the chest is harmless but can be annoying, and can last anywhere from a few minutes to as much as an hour. If you suffer from recurring or chronic hiccups, try monitoring your food and beverage intake: Eating too quickly (or too much) and drinking carbonated or alcoholic beverages can cause hiccups. Stress, smoking and swallowing large amounts of air can also be factors. If your hiccups last more than a few days, or recur frequently, see your physician to rule out an underlying medical condition.

TUSITAMBIE UJANA, FAINALI UZEENI !
Jamani tusitambie ujana, fainali iko hapa.
'Eaten Alive': Mice Chew War Vet's Head
An 89-year-old war veteran has been found covered in blood after mice chewed his head at an Australian nursing home.
The man was discovered in a state of distress at the state government-run nursing home in south west Queensland.
Local MP Ray Hopper likened the situation to the Third World.
"I'm told by the elderly man's daughter that the poor old fellow had been trying to brush the mice away as they continued chewing his ears, head and neck," he said.
"He was so stressed that doctors put him on morphine to calm him down. He nearly died on Saturday night. He was being eaten alive."
The attack came to light when the man's daughter complained to the MP.
Queensland's Health Minister Paul Lucas has apologised to the victim and his family, and offered to relocate other residents of the facility.
The man's daughter said her father was unaware the mice attack took place.
"Because of his age, he's bed-ridden and he has limited communication ability," she said.
The woman told of her disbelief after seeing the injuries on Sunday. "It wasn't just a little nip. It wasn't nice at all," she said.
She added how her family still had complete faith in the nursing home staff, who have had a close relationship with the man during his two years there.
But Australia's Ageing Minister Justine Elliot has ordered an investigation into the procedures and processes at the home in Dalby, 130 miles west of Brisbane.
Karingal Nursing Home, an 80-bed facility with 22 residents over the age of 90, cannot operate without accreditation.
Extra staff and pest control contractors have been called in to deal with the vermin, a Queensland Health spokeswoman said.
